Clearance to Fresnel Zone Ratio
|
| |
The
Clearance to Fresnel zone ratio indicates the relationship between
the clearance of the signal beam and the clearance of the specified
Fresnel zone. In this example, at 8.92 miles the signal beam clears
the terrain by 55.3 feet and the Fresnel zone, F = 2, is 55.8 feet
from the signal beam. The corresponding ratio of 1.0 indicates that
a grazing condition exists. In general a CF ratio less than or equal
to one indicates a path which is blocked, whereas, a CF ratio greater
than one indicates an acceptable level of clearance. |
